Our Love Is True

The music publishing department was actually the genesis of Screaming Clock Music. We were founded in 1992 and incorporated, once the legalities were executed for us to become a music publishing company under the umbrella of BMI. When we became affiliated with BMI, we took their rules and the code of ethics that make a reputable music publisher very seriously. We DO NOT ask for money. A reputable music publisher (provided the music publisher believes enough in your material) is supposed to put HIS or HER money, connections and resources behind you, the writer. If it were the other way around then what do you need them for? If a music publisher asks you to foot the bill, then bills are all you'll get! Steer clear!!!
We are currently accepting submissions of all genres of music for consideration. Like everything else though, there are two rules or steps, if you will, that you MUST adhere to. They are as follows:
#1. Your material, be it completed songs (words and melody), lyrics or music that is either seeking lyrics or that is strictly instrumental, MUST and we do repeat, MUST be copyrighted! By copyrighted we mean legally and legitimately through the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.. Forget about the so called *"poor man's copyright" it ain't real, doesn't exist, don't work and won't stand up period! The sound quality of your submission does not matter to us, so long as we can understand the words and hear the melody. A good song will sell itself! Our general info page contains a small glossary of some of the terms and phrases used throughout this website. A link where you can download the proper forms in PDF format or order them to be mailed to you, if you don't have access to Adobe Acrobat Reader, is on the Web Links page. If you are unsure of which form to use, please feel free to call and we will try to guide you to the form best suited for your particular needs.
#2. YOU MUST *SOLICIT YOUR MATERIAL FIRST! You can do that by e-mail, phone, fax or the US Post Office. We will give you a code to write on your envelope, without that code it will be returned to you unopened. NO EXCEPTIONS!
And of course please feel free to call if you have any questions concerning copyrighting or publishing. We will do our best to help. Remember there are no stupid questions, well maybe we guess there are some, sometimes, but even then we will do our best to at least return the favor with a really stupid answer. Please check our other pages on the site, we have links to all kinds of music resources, further info on the company and staff. So much info written in such a windbag fashion, you'll have to take some vacation time from work and stock up on antacids just to sift through it all. May the force be with you
